New Possibilities for Your Outdoor Space
A closer look at Fiberon Novus and Retreat, their color palettes, and what to consider for a New York deck or terrace.
01 / LOOKING AHEAD
Two Collections in Fiberon’s 2027 Lineup
Choosing a deck surface starts with how you want the space to feel, but the construction of the board matters just as much as its color. Fiberon’s new 2027 product guide features two collections worth exploring: Novus fused composite decking and Retreat cellular PVC decking.
They offer different approaches to a wood-inspired finish. Novus pairs a composite core with a thermoset surface and photographic wood detail. Retreat brings a cellular PVC board with solid and multi-tonal color options.
02 / NOVUS FUSED COMPOSITE
Three Wood-Inspired Color Options
Novus uses a core made with recycled plastic and reclaimed wood, combined with a protective thermoset shell. Its surface design emphasizes the grain and variation associated with natural wood, offering another option for homeowners who enjoy that appearance while considering a manufactured decking surface.

Golden Cedar, Natural Ipe and Weathered Ipe provide three distinct directions for the overall palette. Compare them alongside your building’s brick or stone, railings, outdoor furniture and planting. The names describe manufactured color finishes; Natural Ipe and Weathered Ipe are not natural IPE wood boards.
03 / RETREAT CELLULAR PVC
A Five-Color Palette, from Solid to Multi-Tonal
Retreat is a cellular PVC collection, rather than a wood-plastic composite. Fiberon’s 2027 guide describes an advanced surface on three sides and a flat-bottom board profile. Its five-color selection includes two solid colors and three multi-tonal finishes.

A solid finish can support a more uniform design, while a multi-tonal surface adds variation across the deck. The best choice depends on the surrounding finishes and the character you want the completed space to have.
04 / BEYOND THE COLOR
Similar Choices, Different Board Construction
Novus
Material: Fused composite with a thermoset shell.
Board profile: Flat bottom, approximately 0.93 × 5.4 inches.
Catalog options: Square-edge and grooved boards in 12-, 16- and 20-foot lengths.
Retreat
Material: Cellular PVC with a three-sided advanced surface.
Board profile: Flat bottom, approximately 1.05 × 5.5 inches.
Catalog options: Square-edge and grooved boards in 12-, 16- and 20-foot lengths.
Fiberon lists a lifetime residential performance warranty and a 50-year residential stain and fade warranty for both collections. Coverage is subject to the manufacturer’s current terms, exclusions and installation requirements. Warranty length alone is not a substitute for selecting and installing the right system for the site.
05 / PLANNING A NEW YORK DECK
The Surface Is One Part of the Project
For a rooftop, terrace or backyard deck, we look beyond the swatch. The proposed material needs to work with the supporting structure, drainage, access and the details at steps, fascia and railings.
- Review physical samples. View the selected colors outdoors and next to the finishes that will remain.
- Consider exposure and use. Sun, shade, furniture, footwear and cleaning needs all influence the selection. Any decking surface can become hot in direct sun.
- Confirm the installation requirements. Board spacing, framing, fastening, ventilation and roof protection must suit the specific assembly.
- Check availability before finalizing. Color, board profile, trim and delivery timing need to be confirmed together.
